Improving lives through technology!

“I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.”

The recent announcement and release of OpenAI’s generative artificial intelligence chatbot “Chat GPT” has demonstrated the potential of this technology and generated much public interest. Other major technology firms have been fast to follow with their own chatbot versions. AI chatbots can fulfil simple tasks such as writing customised automatic email replies or more complex tasks such as analysing and drafting legal documents or creating computer code. Although chatbot are only one form of artificial intelligence, they clearly have the potential to significantly change the way we work, study and communicate. As with many technology innovations, chatbots raise a number of governance and legal issues which have yet to be worked through.
