
It’s always useful to listen to the Risky Business podcast for their insights into the latest cyber issue du jour but this week’s podcast had an interesting discussion on the observability of artificial intelligence triggered by Elon Musk’s vow to “open-source” Twitter’s algorithms to promote transparency and free speech. This discussion starts at the 19:40 minute mark on the podcast and highlights one of the key challenges with AI “algorithms” is that the basis for their decision making is not necessarily clear. This topic is covered in more depth in the recently published book “The Age of AI: And Our Human Future” (see our previous post on Perspectives on AI).
